WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI - A Canton man was sent to trial for allegedly shooting out of a car in Ann Arbor, injuring one.
Thelonius Jamal Williams is accused of of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and discharging a firearm from a vehicle causing injury. Judge Anna Frushour of 14A-1 District Court sent the case Oct. 1 to Washtenaw County Trial Court after a hearing.
Williams, who was 23 at the time, is accused of shooting a 32-year-old man who drove himself to the hospital.
A third charge, assault with intent to murder, was dismissed at the hearing. Williams is now facing up to 15 years in prison.

Williams is accused of shooting at the man from a car around 1:45 a.m. May 3 in the 3300 block of Washtenaw Avenue, according to Ann Arbor police. The man took himself to the University of Michigan Hospital with injuries to his hand, according to spokesperson Chris Page.
The man has since been released from the hospital.
Police believe the two men knew each other prior to the incident, police said.
Magistrate Elisha Fink of 14A-1 District Court arraigned Williams May 31. Frushour lowered his bond to a personal recognize bond Aug. 20, according to court records.
He is set to appear before Washtenaw County Trial Court Judge Carol Kuhnke Nov. 12.
