GRAND RAPIDS, MI – A suspect in an armed robbery was arrested after barricading inside a house in the 700 block of Fifth Street NW near Seward Avenue.

Grand Rapids police responded around 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, to a report of an armed robbery.

The suspect had fled into the house on Fifth Street.

When the suspect would not leave the house, police called in the Special Response Team. SRT officers made multiple announcements before the suspect and others in the house eventually walked out.

The suspect was arrested without further incident about three hours after the holdup. No injuries were reported, police said.
