Beson lands lopsided primary win for 96th House District, will face new challenger come November

BAY COUNTY, MI – The race for Michigan’s 96th House District race in the August primary ended in a landslide, with Republican incumbent Timothy Beson defeating challenger Chaz Fowler 7,256 votes to 1,345.

Beson will now face another challenger, Democrat Rudy Howard, Jr., in the November general election.

The Michigan House of Representatives shares responsibility with the Michigan Senate to enact new laws and amend or repeal existing laws. The winner of Michigan’s 96th District race will hold a two-year term.

Beson, a Saginaw Valley State University graduate, has completed two terms as the 96th representative.

Official results will follow the certification process from state and county election officials.
