BRIDGEPORT TOWNSHIP, MI — Incumbent Sheldon “Snap” Matthews will fight to keep his Saginaw County Board of Commissioners seat from a Republican challenger in the November general election.

The Democrat will face Republican Herb Jankowsky for the District 4 seat, which largely covers Bridgeport Township as well as all of Spaulding Township and a slice of South Saginaw. About 16,500 constituents reside within the district, county records show.
