Baker Mayfield and Tampa Bay had a tough night on Monday.

The Bucs lost to Baltimore 41-31 with its defense giving up 508 yards, and both of Tampa’s star wide receivers, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, went down with what appear to be serious injuries.

Mayfield threw two interceptions to contribute to the loss, and apparently, he turned to a popular vice to help calm the nerves.

With the Bucs trailing 17-10 at the start of the third quarter, ESPN cameras caught Mayfield pop open a tin of ZYN nicotine pouches and put one in his mouth.

Baltimore got the ball to start the second half.

ZYNs, which have grown in popularity since hitting the market in 2014, are designed to be an alternative to traditional smokeless tobacco.

They are controversial to some because of the amounts of nicotine they contain, with health experts pointing out their addictive quality, gateway drug potential and unknown long-term effects.

Mayfield might need some help moving forward without his top two receivers, but he’s enjoyed a strong season so far, completing 70% of his passes for 1,859 yards, 18 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.

Tampa Bay (4-3) hosts Atlanta on Sunday. The Bucs lost to the Falcons, 36-30, on Oct. 3.
