COVID on the rise as Michigan hospital admissions near 2-year high

Coronavirus infections are on the rise throughout Michigan, with hospital admissions at their highest point in almost two years.

As of Jan. 1, the state health department reported a weekly hospital admissions rate for COVID patients of 14.6 per week per 100,000 people. That rate was 4.8 at the end of October, 10.5 at the end of November, and hadn’t surpassed 14 since February 2022.
