LANSING, MI -- A Gladwin woman says she plans on using some new-found fortune to buy a new car and a house as she recently won a $300,000 jackpot playing the Michigan Lottery’s Top Secret Cashword instant game.
“When I scratched the ticket, I initially thought I won $1,000,” said Kaylynn Totten, 47. “I scanned it on the Michigan Lottery app to double check and was in disbelief when the amount of $300,000 came up on the screen! I took the ticket back into the store and had them scan it to make sure it was real. I am still waiting for it to hit me that I won $300,000!”
Totten bought her winning ticket at Hunters Paradise, located at 9359 North M 18 in Gladwin. She recently visited Lottery headquarters in Lansing to claim her prize.

The last players from Michigan to win a Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot is the Breakfast Club lottery club which claimed a $842 million jackpot in June 2024. The members plan to use the money to buy a home in Florida and travel.
And while they were lucky winners, it’s smart for players to check their tickets immediately as a Mega Millions winner worth $1 million sold in Southfield in 2023 went unclaimed. The money instead went to the state’s School Aid Fund.
