A new episode of ABC News Studios “Impact X Nightline” will discuss the final days of One Direction star Liam Payne. Much to the shock of fans everywhere, Payne died on Oct. 16, when he fell from a third-floor balcony at his hotel.

Liam Payne was previously part of the wildly popular boy band One Direction. For six years, he toured the world performing alongside Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson until the band split in 2016. One Direction was formed by Simon Cowell when he paired the five young boys together as a single act on the hit show “X-Factor.”
Payne was on vacation in Buenos Aires and had just watched old bandmate Niall Horan perform a few days prior when he died. Payne was 31.
“One Direction: Liam Payne’s Final Days” discusses his death and the alleged drugs, trashed hotel room and deadly fall that have made headlines. The special also addresses the dark side of fame. ABC News will have new interviews with people who were close to Payne, including a former fellow “X-Factor” contestant. A social psychologist and One Direction fan also give interviews.
