WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI – A woman accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter has been sentenced to up to 10 years in prison in what a Washtenaw County prosecutor called “an opportunity to reflect.”
“I think that the reality is that for all parents who decide to use belts or other implements for violence – so it’s an easy solution – all it does is teach children that violence is an effective form of communication,” said Jonathan Emmons, assistant prosecuting attorney for Washtenaw County.
