GENESEE COUNTY, MI -- The Flint area isn’t immune from a big increase in whooping cough cases across the country.

The Genesee County Health Department reported cases of the bacterial infection -- also known as pertussis -- reached 31 as of Monday, Oct. 21, after no cases had been reported in all of 2023.
