WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI - Seats are on the line for Washtenaw County sheriff, Ann Arbor City Council and a number of other races throughout the county in the Tuesday, Aug. 6 primary.

The sheriff’s race involves Democrats Alyshia Dyer, Derrick Jackson and Ken Magee. The winner on Tuesday will advance to the November general election to face the winner between a pair of write-in Republican candidate, in the effort to succeed outgoing Sheriff Jerry Clayton.

In Ann Arbor, incumbent Council Member Jen Eyer, D-4th Ward, is seeking re-election against Democratic challenger Mozhgan Savabieasfahani. The winner will not face a Republican in November.

The statewide elections on the ballot include the open U.S. Senate spot with two Democrats and three Republicans facing off.
