Michigan hospitals are getting busier, making for longer wait times

Michiganders seeking care at emergency rooms, urgent care centers and clinics around the state may notice longer wait times this winter due to a recent rise in upper respiratory illnesses.

It’s not an uncommon time of year for sick patient volumes to climb with influenza, COVID and RSV making their rounds. Coming out of the holiday season, those infections are likely to “spread like wildfire,” which explains why hospital systems like Corewell Health are feeling more strain than usual.
