HAMLIN TOWNSHIP, MI – There’s a job opening at Michigan’s “most amazing” state park, officials announced.
Ludington State Park is looking for a park interpreter.
“Consider joining the team at the most amazing state park in Michigan,” officials said on Facebook.
The park interpreter is responsible for planning, promoting and presenting environmental and historical education, and outdoor recreation activities at the park, and presenting education, history and recreation programming in the region, as needed.
The full-time position is expected to pay $25 to $35 per hour, depending on experience.
A bachelor’s degree is required and should be related to natural resources or education.

The 4,800-acre park situated between Lake Michigan and Hamlin Lake is one of Michigan’s most popular camping destinations. It features seven miles of sandy Lake Michigan shoreline, an iconic lighthouse and a one-mile stretch of the Big Sable River that’s popular for fishing, paddling and tubing. The park also features 21 miles of marked trails through wetlands, marshes, dunes and forests, plus two water trails. Hamlin Lake is popular for recreation, including boating, fishing, paddling and swimming.

However, most of the park is currently closed for construction. It’s scheduled to reopen on July 1 after $3.2 million in upgrades, mostly to its roads and parking lots.
