GENESEE COUNTY, MI -- Inmates with a medical treatment plan for their addictions could stay on their medications while incarcerated in Genesee County through a new program that’s been approved by the county Board of Commissioners.

The board accepted a $250,000 grant from the Michigan State Police on Wednesday, Oct. 23, and agreed to boost those funds with $62,500 from county opioid lawsuit settlement funds.
