Rose White is an economic reporter for MLive.com. She primarily writes about how the economy impacts people across Michigan. This includes topic areas of affordable housing, public benefit programs like SNAP and Section 8, unemployment, student debt and inflation. Rose also covers the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and its strategy to attract major investments from companies like Ford Motor Company and General Motors with grants, loans and tax breaks awarded by the Michigan Strategic Fund. This includes tracking Michigan's shift to electric vehicle manufacturing. Rose's work has won awards from the Michigan Press Association and Michigan APME. She has spent six years in journalism since graduating from Grand Valley State in 2015 and earning a Master of Arts from the University of the West of England in 2017. Before joining MLive, Rose worked as a digital producer at WZZM 13. She lives in Grand Rapids.
