Proposal would make new apartments near Ann Arbor affordable

WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI — A developer who has already gotten plans approved for 212 apartments in Scio Township was back in front of the township board asking for more than $7 million in subsidies to make 43 of the units attainable workforce housing.

The ask prompted some concern the project faces a potential financing gap township officials weren’t aware of when they approved it.
