Race for Bay City’s 6th Ward Commissioner down to 2 candidates

BAY CITY, MI – Two people will appear on the November General Election ballot with the chance to replace Chris Girard as the 6th Ward Commissioner on the city commission.

Alexander Dewitt and Bruce Eckhart defeated Cory Christopher for the soon-to-be vacated nonpartisan commission seat representing Bay City’s 6th Ward, which covers part of the city’s South End and includes parts of the city’s east and west sides.

With 41 of 41 precincts in Bay City reporting, Dewitt recorded 197 votes; Eckhart had 108 votes; and Christopher tallied 84 votes.

The 6th Ward Commissioner seat carries with it a four-year term.

Official results will follow the certification process from state and county election officials.
