ANN ARBOR, MI — “Right to sit” laws exist in many states, some cities and all across Europe, but Michigan hasn’t had one since 1975 and it leaves many workers forced to stand on the job when they could be sitting, Ann Arbor officials say.

For store cashiers, hospitality industry workers and others in Ann Arbor, that’s about to change.
