Small Southwest Michigan café named after 1920s political scandal turns 100

VAN BUREN COUNTY, MI — Before Watergate went down, the Teapot Dome scandal was regarded by most as the greatest political scandal to occur in American history.

The bribery scandal eventually led to Secretary of the Interior Albert Fall being convicted of accepting bribes from a number of private oil companies. The conviction also gave Fall the dubious honor of becoming the first presidential cabinet member to go to prison.
