What a difference a bye week can make.
Michigan State came out of its week off and looked like a different team, leading throughout and convincingly beating Iowa, 32-20, on Saturday night at Spartan Stadium.
The win helped the Spartans move past a three-game losing streak and get some momentum entering a trip to Michigan next week.

* Angelo Grose may have seen his playing time diminish from the beginning of the year, but he was the top-rated defensive player for the Spartans against the Hawkeyes. He gave up no catches on three targets and recorded a pass breakup.
* Kay’ron Lynch-Adams was Michigan State’s highest-rated offensive player for the week and now holds that distinction for the season, as well. He had four missed tackles forced and had 57 yards after contact against the Hawkeyes.
* Michigan State set a slew of new season-highs for offensive grades, including for offensive overall, receiving and rushing. Its rushing grade of 82.9 was its highest in a Big Ten game in the PFF era, dating back to the 2014 season. The team had 137 yards after contact and 13 missed tackles forced.
* Nick Marsh now has the third-best season grade among qualifying freshman wide receivers in college football, behind only Jeremiah Smith of Ohio State and Malcolm Simmons of Auburn.
* As a team, Michigan State had its second-best tackling grade of the season, giving up only three while defending one of the nation’s leading rushers in Iowa’s Kaleb Johnson.
