How to watch the New Jersey Devils vs. Detroit Red Wings - NHL (10/24/24) | Channel, stream, preview

DETROIT -- After a couple of hard-fought wins on the road, the Detroit Red Wings return to Little Caesars Arena on Thursday night, hoping to stay on the good side of the scoreboard when they host the New Jersey Devils.

There was a lot of concern around Hockeytown after the Red Wings lost three of their first four games to kickoff the 2024-25 season. However, thanks to a couple of timely goals and some stellar goaltending from Alex Lyon, Detroit quickly got back to .500 thanks to a couple of wins on the road.

After beating the Nashville Predators for the second time in a week this past Saturday, Lyon was sensational behind his team, who looked rather sluggish on Tuesday against the New York Islanders. Patrick Kane’s first goal of the season was one of Detroit’s 11 shots on goal. That left Lyon to make some big saves, turning away all 30 of the Islanders’ shots to help the Wings steal a 1-0 win.

The Devils have played a couple more games than the Red Wings, but they have cooled off after a hot start to the season. New Jersey won four of its first five games of the campaign, but it has since stumbled, losing three of its last four, including a wild 8-5 defeat at the hands of the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday.

This will be the first of three meetings this season between the Wings and Devils. NJ won two of the three matchups last year.
