This weekend won’t have any storm system rolling through. This means mostly dry weather and a good deal of sun. You will need either a jacket or coat or maybe both through the weekend days.
Rain showers will move through all of Michigan Friday morning and early afternoon. Those showers will last off and on for six hours, and should be over when we start our weekend Friday evening.
Here is the rain forecast with an hour by hour look at rainfall through Sunday evening. Notice just a stray shower is possible across far northern Lower Michigan.
The only rain this weekend shows up in a total rain forecast for Saturday as just a few hundredths of rain over far northern Lower and the eastern U.P. Let’s just call it a dry weekend.
It will be a fairly chilly weekend compared to our recent weather. We will start the mornings in the 30s and 40s, and need a heavy coat.
Saturday afternoon will only warm up in the 40s and low-50s. It will be a chilly afternoon.
After a cold start everywhere Sunday, eventually temperatures warm into the mid-to-upper 50s.
The fall season is known to be windy here in Michigan. This weekend won’t be particularly windy. Saturday afternoon will have a steady breeze between seven mph and 12 mph.
Sunday afternoon should have a fairly light wind.
This all means both days we can spend time outside and not get wet. We will need to bundle up somewhat both Saturday and Sunday.
The leaves have fallen in many sections of Lower Michigan. You can still find some fall color at the warm lakeside areas of Old Mission Peninsula and Leelanau County. The Tunnel of Trees is also historically late on peak color.
